Show or Hide All File Extensions on the Mac

Show or Hide All File Extensions on the Mac

I thought I wrote a post about this but didnt one in the archive. So here it is.

SOLUTION
  1. Open Finder
  2. In the menu bar, select Finder > Preferences... (keyboard shortcut is [command] + [,] (comma)).
  3. In the opened Finder Preferences dialog window, select Show all filename extensions (check-mark it), and close the window.
  4. In the open Finder window, all the file names should have their file extensions appended at the end.
